In my family, we hold our traditions near and dear to our hearts. My mom has always been good at making even the smallest holidays fun! Green dinner on St. Patrick’s Day, Easter Egg Pancakes, Sleeping in the same room on Christmas Eve, Holidays at our house are always entertaining and memorable. This family of girls is ready to help you start your next family tradition!
1. Leprechaun Hunting

As you can see in this old photo, the Keele Girls LOVE ST. PATRICKS DAY! Each year, we dress in green, eat the traditional green dinner, and set out on out annual Leprechaun Hunt. The Leprechaun always leaves a trail of green and gold candy behind him as he runs through our house, so it is easy to tell where he has been. Although we none of us have ever caught the sneaky Leprechaun, it is always one of our favorite traditions!
2. Pumpkin Patch

The Pumpkin Patch has been a Halloween tradition for as long as I can remember. Each year, this family of girls enjoys hayrides, hot coco, pumpkins and squash. When I first moved away for college, one of the things I always came back for was the Pumpkin patch. This year, my husband Slate and best friend Josh were able to come along! This activity always gets us I that Fall/Halloween mood! Don’t have a local Pumpkin Patch? Make a fun family night and hunt for your pumpkins at your local grocery store or even Grow your own! We love bringing ours home and making a lovely fall display on our porch. When Halloween night starts approaching, we love laying an old sheet out in the living room and carving our little hearts out!
3. Live Christmas Tree Hunting

That’s right people, each year after Thanksgiving is all over, my family gets a tree permit(or a few) and head up the mountain for a Christmas Tree. Tree hunting day is always full of laughter, mittens and memories as real as the trees we find. My mom always supplies us with warm hot chocolate and treats to keep us ready to find the perfect tree! When we get home, there is always a hot pot of homemade chili to warm us up before we turn the house into a Christmas Village. The smell of the tree really makes if free like Christmas, especially when the traditional homemade gingerbread cookies are baking in the oven.
No matter how big or small your family is, traditions can be a great way to bring everyone together and make memories! It’s never too late to start doing something that your family might love. So, get out there, make memories, start new traditions! What family traditions do you have?
