Here at the Keele house, we are all about tricks and competitions. Today, the little girls wanted to teach everyone how to “climb a wall” and do a headstand. All of us are or have been dancers, so we did not think these tasks would be too challenging. How hard can it really be? For your entertainment, we filmed our lesson. Watch the video below to find out how you too can climb a wall and do a headstand.
Step one:
As explained by Allie J, the first step to climbing a wall is finding the proper hand placement. If you noticed, she places her hand in the perfect place for her wall climb. One thing she didn’t explain was that her clothing was optimal for this activity. It is important to wear clothing that can stretch and absorb the sweat you will produce as you climb a wall in your house. I might also add that her height is optimal for this challenge. If you are between 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 feet tall, this activity should be pretty easy for you.
Step two:
Kesslee does a great job of explaining how to climb a wall. She shows us how to use our feet to get off the ground and make our way up. She too has the perfect outfit for this activity, as pajamas are a wonderful option for wall climbing. Side note: look how beautiful her hair looks? Our family is a big fan of the French braid wave look.
Family member attempts:
As you watch each family member make their journey up the wall, you can see the different personalities of each person. Taylee comes in with all the confidence, but then proceeds to fall down the wall. Bailey modifies the instructions from the beginning and essentially nails her wall climb. My climb was not fully captured, but I can assure you that you are not missing much, as I am the most uncoordinated sister. Slate modifies the climb even further than Bailey, and makes it to the ceiling with ease. Having a boy in our house is a really big game changer. As usually, mom and dad are able to complete the challenge with ease. Sadly, our sister Whitney was unable to make it to our wall climbing lesson, but I am sure she would have performed well. Fun fact: Both of our parents were college cheerleaders, which explains the coordination.
Headstand Time:
Mom Jen came in clutch as she taught us how to headstand like pros! If we ever have headstand contests, mom is usually the winner. The key is being able to position your head and hands in a triangle shape. This creates a fantastic base for your headstand. You may have noticed that dad was missing in the headstand clip, but let me assure you that he too can headstand, he was just taking his role as camera man for that scene.
So, do you think you can climb walls and headstand as well as thees girls? Show us your results below!
